Pulpit Rock & Waterfalls

First we visit the Vagabonds Cave, a narrow outcrop in the side of the fjord and we discover its secrets. Afterwards, we continue to Preikestolen. Translated “preachers pulpit”, Preikestolen is a sight unrivalled in Norway. The rock formation towering over 600 meters above you seems to defy all laws of nature and it’s a stunning sight to see. Lastly we visit the 75 meter tall “whiskey” waterfall and you will learn from our guides why it has received this name.

Our Pulpit rock (Preikestolen) cruise is Perfect for cruise ship passengers. Our 10:30 AM departure gives you plenty of time to disembark and find us at our meeting point at Strandkaien. It is just a short walk from the Stavanger cruise port.

MS Brim

Silent, modern and comfortable

Your boats name is MS Brim, and it is a hybrid electric catamaran. MS Brim features our signature style of two indoor saloons and offers three levels to explore. We have a wide open tarrace at the back of the boat, or if you wish, you can stand right at the front of the boat on the lower level and embrace the fresh Norwegian air.

MS Brim features a fully stocked bar/cafe and snacks are available for purchase during your tour. We regrettably do not allow eating of your own food on board.

Our ship is designed with our guests comfort in mind and during the cruise you can enjoy the scenery from inside one of our saloons which feature floor-to-ceiling windows, giving you a front-row-experience from wherever you are.

Hike vs. Cruise

When planning your trip from Stavanger to the iconic Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen), you have two distinct ways to experience its beauty: hiking to the summit or taking a Silent Lysefjord & Pulpit rock cruise. Both offer unforgettable views, but the right choice depends entirely on your travel style, schedule, and fitness levels.

Why Choose the Lysefjord & Pulpit Rock Cruise?

A Different Perspective: Standing on the edge of a 604-meter cliff is thrilling, but looking up at it from the completely silent waters of the fjord gives you a true sense of its immense, gravity-defying scale. We sail from a distance and make our way up close to the cliff. This gives you a perspective that is only possible by boat.

Effortless Sightseeing: The Preikestolen hike is a demanding, 4-5 hour roundtrip over rugged, steep mountain terrain. Our hybrid electric fjord cruise allows you to experience amazement of the the world-famous Preikestolen completely strain-free.

See More Hidden Gems: The hike only takes you to the top of the plateau. Our 3.5-hour cruise takes you deep into the entire Lysefjord ecosystem, stopping directly at the mythical Vagabonds Cave (Fantahålå), pulling right up to the cascading 75-meter Whiskey Waterfall, and letting you spot local marine wildlife.
