Lofoten - Sea Eagle & Sunset Cruise

The midnight sun is a natural phenomenon where the sun does not go below the horizon and is thus visible at midnight. The midnight sun is only visible during the summer months towards the poles on either side of the earth. On the northern hemisphere, this only happens above the arctic circle, or approximately 66 degrees north.

At the arctic circle, the midnight sun happens 1 day during the summer. The further north you go, the longer the midnight sun is. In Lofoten, at 68 degrees north, the midnight sun lasts for approx. 48 days between 28 May - 14 July.

Not everywhere in Lofoten it will be possible to see the midnight sun, as it goes lower over the northern horizon, meaning that on the southern side of Lofoten the mountains often block out the view of when the sun is lowest. Furthermore, the lowest point of the sun is technically not at midnight, but often later at night.

Yes, we have a minimum of 8 guests for our tours. We always strive to do a tour on every day within the season, but sometimes there are too few people booked. In these cases, it is both financially but also ecologically unsustainable to do a tour with our ship. When this happens we will always offer you to reschedule your tour to another day if possible, or we provide you with a full refund.

It is most common to see birdlife on our cruise tours in Lofoten. Most famously the white-tailed eagle, Europe’s largest eagle. Other birds are Cormorants and different types of gulls. With our underwater drone we can explore the hidden world below the surface of the water and we sometimes find different kinds of fish or jellyfish. Rare, but sometimes, we see dolphins, porpoises or even orcas.
