Hovdsundet & Mjelle Beach

When then pass by the most photographed beach in Bodø. During the spring, the island is home to birds nesting and sheep roaming the green hills. If we are lucky, we will also see some Sea Eagles sitting on the island.

Sail into a fjord

We sail into Mistfjorden and head Nordfjorden. The fjord lies in its entirety in an untouched and uninhabited area within the boundaries of Sjunkhatten National Park. During this adventure into the fjord, the mountains rise up to 800 meters high gives the observer a great depiction the scale of the mountain range.

A historical stop over

Upon our arrival at Kjerringøy, we step on land and make a 10 minute walk through a wonderful lush bit of forest to breathtaking Kjerringøy Handelssted where you will have 1 hour to explore. This 19th century trading post has several well preserved buildings, including several beautiful old wooden boats. Roam around the open air museum and imagine what life would be like here 200 years ago.

On the way back to Bodø, you can purchase something to eat or drink and enjoy the unobstructed views over Vestfjorden.
